It was dark and dank, but on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night you couldn't wait to get in, though you usually had to. Once in, there was nothing but cheap beer, and a jukebox. And what a jukebox! It introduced most of us to David Allen Coe and Hank Jr. But don't worry there was also plenty of rock; but you couldn't dance, because your feet stuck to the floor! Still at least once an hour, you needed to know the words to a song about Mama, trains, trucks, prison, or getting drunk. So grab this shirt, fight your way to the bar, and order a cold pitcher of PBR. And maybe you'll catch a glimpse of Sam, sitting at the end of the bar...whayasay?

Sorry to say it, but Sam died about 30 years ago of brain cancer. He had sold Troll's (to Roger I think) and married a girl from my UNC'81 class. Later (don't remember if this was before or after he died), she opened Bub's, 2 floors up from Troll's (or as we called it "On top of on top of Troll's").
I agree that 'white' is probably not the color I would associate with Troll's. :)
And don't forget the pinball in the back...Mata Hari and longneck Buds..."give me hole B*%^h"...we cried the day they hauled her away on the back of that flatbed!!!

Wow, Troll's...where I learned the Stones lyrics: "Bite the big apple, don't mind the maggots" singing into a cold bottle of Stroh's. Could buy beer at 18 back then. Is Sam still around?
Score 4: I like white, but a Troll's shirt shouldn't be white.
