The wait was usually at least 15 minutes, sometimes 30. But who really cared? It was 2:00 a.m. and the only thing on your mind was a double cheeseburger on pita, or a gyro. Now with this shirt you can go back to the days of Hector's late night. BTW if you forget the rules to live by, they're right there on the back. All 20 of them! Remember, why take TIME OUT for SUBS, when Hector's rules.

I helped close this place many nights on the way back to the ATO house with a Greek Grilled Cheese to soak up some of the beer.

I was shooting a women's volleyball game and walking back to the Student TV office, when a passer-by said Hector's was on fire. I ran to Franklin Street and beat the local TV news crews there. Always remember that and how brave firefighters must be in such a situation. You don't realize it until you see them going into a HUGE fire. It's an intense experience seeing it in person.

I remember when they would let you buy a cheeseburger pita on credit- all you had to do was give your dorm and room #. Thay knew you would be back!!!

How about a gyro with fries, extra heavy, extra crispy, to soak up the PBR from a night at Trolls?

When I was a freshman at UNC (1971), I thought the Famous Since 1969 tagline on Hector's sign was a hoot. Now that they've been around for 39 years, it sounds a little more respectable. Regarding their cheeseburgers, only in North Carolina could you order them with slaw and not get a strange look! Mmm-Mmmmm.

Can't even count how many times after a night out... stumbling in to Hectors for their greasy steak & cheese ("To-go-eat-here, everythin on it"... dripped down your arm and soaked up the alcohol!
How 'bout one from MadHatter?
